The Sixty-fifth Amendment of the Constitution of India, officially known as The Constitution (Sixty-fifth Amendment) Act, 1990, established a National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and specified its statutory powers. The Commission was bifurcated into the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes by the 89th Amendment, which came into force on 19 February 2004. ==Text==
